For all these four years and odd, the CPM has been holding the government to ransom by its support from outside which alone guaranteed a majority for the Manmohan government. To cite but a few of the measures that the CPM has been sabotaging are the further liberalization of our economy (and reforms in the banking and insurance sectors), disinvestment from a number of PSUs especially the BSNL, insistence upon a higher rate for the Employees Provident Fund, demanding that the government should wind down its relations and cooperation with Israel, its advocacy that India should vote for Iran in the counsels of the IAEA [so that it could pursue its nuclear program which would ultimately enable it to make nuclear bombs with the avowed aim of destroying Israel), its congenital anti-Hinduism and pro -Islamic forces within and outside India, its paranoid opposition to any fruitful collaboration of India with the US and of course, its undeclared advocacy of Chinese interests in India (like for eg. the grant of visas to unskilled Chinese workers to come to India to work on contracts that Chinese companies won) and most importantly, its terrific silence on communist China’s claims for large tracks of our territory in Arunachal Pradesh and now, the reopening of the Sikkim’s borders with China. The UPA government can, without this millstone of the anti-India, anti-Hindu and pro-foreign communist parties can press ahead with further liberalization and other progressive measures that would build up our defence forces, internal security and our economy.
The second good thing is that the UPA government can now go ahead with the signing of the Indo-US civil nuclear cooperation Agreement. That some of the clauses in the Agreement are not entirely as would be desired by us is voiced by some scientists. At the same time, there are an equal number of scientists and engineers who are convinced that the Agreement does not harm any of India’s interests. It is significant to note that those nuclear scientists and others who are opposing this Agreement are fellow-travelers of Marxists. No mount of argument or reason can convince them as, like the communists, they are anti-America first and only then pro-India.
The way that the confidence vote was won by the Manmohan Singh government is a blot on the fair name of democracy. It is very well known that the two brothers of India’s largest companies are ranged against one another and are using political parties to buttress their efforts to destroy one another. One of them has prevailed upon the Samajwadi party to become the hatchet man for the Congress party. The dirty work of buying MP’s votes has been outsourced by the Congress party to the Samajwadi party (SP). The Congress and the SP together have stooped to the lowest levels of political conduct in that they have enticed a number of MPs from every opposition party by heavy payments to defy the whip which their parties had given.
The largest amount of defection has taken place from the BJP. This must be a great cause of concern for the patriots in India because the BJP is generally understood to be a nationalist party and a party with a difference, committed to nationalism, and ethical conduct. That as many as 8 MPs of this party proved themselves to be immoral and unprincipled must make the BJP to introspect to be very cautious and investigative before it chooses its candidates for pubic offices like MLAs and MPs.
Another fact that has come out is that the TDP is disintegrating . Not only has some of its MPs voted against the whip but its supremo is showing himself to be totally unprincipled . He is cosying up to the TRS: he has brought Susree Mayawathi as a claimant to Prime Ministership. He is trying to build up a ramshackle Third Front comprising of Communists, the TDP, BSP and parties which are in as disintegrating a mode as his own TDP. Communists had denounced him as an agent of the World Bank when he allied with BJP. The TDP supremo denounced communists as opponents of growth and development. He has now fallen into their lap. It shows that there is no ideology or principles. His only aim seems to be to capture power in Andhra Pradesh . The type of promises he is making like free rice for the poor, Rs. 2000 cr of works to be given to TDP party workers on nomination basis; free electricity upto 3 connections including a TV set ; waiving of all loans for all farmers and for all those for the SCs, STs Muslims, Christians and so on shows to what unprincipled level the party has sunk.
The Congress, the proprietary party of a family is doing great harm to this country by the Muslim First programs designed to convert 90 districts with more than 20% Muslim population, into Muslim majority districts. These 90 are in addition to the Muslim majority districts in Assam, West Bengal, Triupura and Kerala. The integration of India that Sardar Patel brought about is being undone by this Dynasty-owned party in its unquenchable to get the block votes of Muslims. The Congress party doesn’t deserve to be in power even for a day as with every day, the danger of disintegration of India is being promoted by it. Its winning the confidence vote is from this point of view harmful to India.
A number of casteist parties, almost all of them in the nature of proprietary ownership are being born. All the regional parties are also proprietary. People-oriented and involving democracy (Praja Swamya) has given way to Nayaka Swamya. It is now further deteriorated into proprietary rule that is Vyakti Swamya. When once it is got down to Vyakti Swamya, family quarrels influence the existence of the party itself. The fight between the two sons of the DMK for succession, the fight within the TDP for ownership of this party and the looming one in the JDS of Deve Gouda between his two sons, the fight between the son and nephew of the supremo of the Shivsena are examples of how when democracy is transformed into a family and dynasty rule, individual interests of the family members determine the fate of the parties and our governments. As Sri Advaniji said those two days (21st and 22nd July 2008) of the debate on the confidence motion had brought out the worst in the Indian Democracy in that money has become the decisive factor in the way that MPs, cutting across parties are voting. We have a serious problem on our hands; the creeping immorality in all ranks of politicians. If this is not arrested we will go down, we will be betraying countless martyrs who suffered and gave their lives so that Bharat could be free.
