The Results  of  the 2024  General Elections to the  18th Lok Sabha

Dr T.H.Chowdary*

Results of the  general elections to the 18th Lok Sabha (2024 -…) in April / June 2024 surprise the ruling BJP-led  National Democratic Alliance (NDA) as well as the aspirant I.N.D.I.A  led by the  Mother-son-daughter  Congress which vowed  to dislodge  Sri  Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister of Bharat. Although India was developed  from the  world’s miserable 10th economy in 2014 to the  5th largest in 2024,  foreign exchange reserves  doubled  to over  $ 600 bln, Bharat’s stature among the world’s nations rose impressively and is  a leader  among  digitalisation  and  large sections of the   1450 mln people  are receiving social welfare benefits , the  BJP  instead of 370 seats it aspired and more than another 30  for  its   allies finished with 240 for itself and 50 for its allies. Although Sri Narendra Modi’s  BJP-led alliance  may hold power  for the  full term, many worthwhile reforms  needed   in the state’s policies may not be  accomplished  with serious  harmful  consequences to our nation-hood   -  its integrity and  rejuvenation.  This article  spells out  some of my thoughts on the subject.

2. In the (premature) elections to the   Lok Sabha in 2004 the BJP’s slogan was , “India  Shining”. It was in the  7th  year of its  rule at the  head of some twenty parties with  Atal Behari Vajpay ji as Prime Minister and Sri L.K. Advani as Dy Prime Minister  and Home Minister.  India  was really shining compared to many nations’  economies . But the BJP lost the election.  The  reason was   the  people asked, “ yes India  is shining but what about the  poor  and jobless; the  prices of food-stuffs  are beyond my reach”. That reminds me of an often repeated  question of a  common man: “  why should  democracy means every body else  excepting me!”  So India may shine but many a voter could not see the  glitter.

3. In the  2024  elections to the Parliament, the  BJP’s principal slogan was ,” is bar 400 par” .   This scary slogan was made full use of by its  enemies, especially Rahul Gandhi and his tribe to mean that the BJP   intends to rewrite the constitution removing reservations and  almost  dis-enfranchising Muslims and  perhaps  even Christians.   This interpretation of the  BJP’s slogan  created havoc.  The SCs  in provinces like UP  switched over to  Samajwadi party. Mayavati’s Bahujan party men also  switched  over to the Samajwadi party which was part of   Rahul Gandhi-led  INDIA.  In 2024 out of the 80 seats  in UP the BJP got only 33 while in the  2019 elections it won 62  seats.   In West Bengal,  the Muslim population at 35% has crossed the 18% that was immediately after  partition.  Muslims  here as elsewhere in India  totally  voted against the BJP . Both the communist parties which ruled  West Bengal  for a  continuous period of 34 years (1977-2011) and  the  Trinamul Congress  for the last 13 (2011 – 2024 incumbent ) years have been   facilitating the infiltration of Bangladeshi  Muslims into the state. Many districts are now  Muslim majority and   they decide who would win.

4.  In Maharashtra   the split of the Shiv Sena and the  Nationalist Congress Party  (NCP) were distasteful. The BJP was seen as unprincipled  to get these  factions on  its side and rule the state.  Maharashtra sends 48  MPs,  second largest number after  UP (80) In 2019, the  BJP alliance got 45 seats ( BJP-23; Shiv Sena -18; NCP-4)  .  In 2024 elections the BJP alliance got only  17 seats ( BJP-9; Shiv Sena-7; NCP-1)

5.  It is  un-understandable as to why  the INDIA’s scare that the  constitution will be  re-written and  that reservations will be  removed;  did not   affect the SCs and the  STs in Orissa. In Orissa the BJP beat the  Biju Janata Dal which has been ruling  the state for  over 24 years.  This is a real  gain.  In Orissa the  Muslim population  is  only about 7% and so did  not affect BJP much.

6. It is obvious  that   Muslims will  en-block vote against  the BJP. The 9.58%  Muslim population  in 1951 has now crossed 17% and possibly more than 20%. More districts are  becoming  Muslim majority in certain states like Kerala , Rajasthan, Haryana, Bihar , Bengal and Assam.  Sachar Committee appointed by Sonia-directed, communist-supported  UPA government ( 2004-14) identified over 80 districts with significant  Muslim population.  And Manmohan Singh launched “Muslim First” ( not SC or ST) development programs in those districts, unmindful  that they would proliferate rapidly  and become majority.

7. That the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) in Kerala has instantly welcomed  the decision of  Priyanka  Gandhi  contesting from Wayanad in Kerala  for the seat vacated by her brother  Rahul Gandhi is indicative of the mother -son-daughter  led party is now a surrogate  of  Muslims, totally opposed to BJP and  to defeat it  by a vote- jihad call given by Maria Alam Khan of the Samjawadi party and a niece  of Salman Khurshid,  a leader of  Congress Party addressing an election meeting  in Farrukhabad ( UP) appealed to Muslim voters   to launch a vote-jihad . Campaigning  for a  Samjwadi party candidate, Navan Kishore  Shakya she said that vote-jihad is the only way to remove the  BJP government ( the UP Police booked a case  against Maria Alam Khan and Salman Khurshid for invoking religion to get votes) . Love jihad has been  on since more than a decade to entice Hindu girls into Islam.  Vote jihad is, hundred percent Muslim vote against BJP to defeat it in Assembly and Lok Sabha polls.

8. If  20% to 35%  Muslims’  votes  are   weaponsied as  jihad to defeat the BJP, what is the  prospect for this   country?  It  appears that by 2047 the country may get ruled by surrogates of  Islamist Muslims.  The pre-1947  Muslim League  slogan was:

Ladake  lenge  Pakistan

Haske lenge  Hindustan

(We will take  Pakistan  by fighting;  we take Hindustan by  smiling i.e, over populating India with Muslims)

9. One idea as to how the catastrophe of India  also becoming a  Muslim ruled country  is to  reclaim  the Hindus converted  to Islam  by conquerors who ruled this country for over 600 years.  While 10% of  Muslims  trace their  origin to foreigners  (Afghans , Arabs,  Iranians  etc.), 90% are from the lower  profession castes  of Hindus – weavers, gardeners,  leather workers, butchers, scavengers …… These 90% Muslims are  known as Pasmandas, Iranian word for “left-outs” (from equalisation, integration, prosperity).  These will have to be  slowly weaned away from Islamism and  Islamists  . Already there are organisations   like  All India Momin Conference  which  represents socially backward Pasmanda Muslims.   It is the voice of the oppressed and down trodden among Muslim masses .  The Pasmanda Muslim mahaz  founded  by Ali Anwar Ansari in 1998  in Bihar spearheads Pasmanda politics in the  Hindi belt.  It is a loose coalition  of social reform organisations bringing awareness  to the  plight of  this Pasmanda Muslims and their  complete neglect  and  persecution by the  upper class Ashraf  Muslims  in India.  It condemns the Muslim Personal Law , reservation and electoral  politics . Nationalists must patronise and help this Pasmanda organisation to consolidate and grow and distance itself from Islamist politics of Muslims and their patrons in the mother-son-daughter Congress and  the regional “ secular”  parties.  In fact, they maybe part of the Hindu society  and be a Hindu-Muslim sect  like  Madhwa, Sri Vaishnava, Lingayat…. In this  development may be the safety of Bharat  remaining a non-Islamist ruled country.  Otherwise, the vote jihad and the  non-BJP parties would combine to convert Bharat into an Islam- ruled country.  The sooner the peril is realised the better. The only Bharatiya nationalist  organisation,  the  Rastriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)   has to  seriously think about  the looming  threat  to Hinduism, Sanatan Dharma and Bharat and prepare the Hindu society to defend itself  and defeat the  Islamists and their “secular”  friends  and communists ( the congenitally anti-Hindu Resident non-Indians (RNIs)). Multi-party democracy and adult franchise without adequate education  have been leading  to the progressive weakening  of nationalism and Hindu society. (1,325 words)
