Growth of Muslim Population

In the article , “Our Common Religion” by Sri Pawan K Varma (TOI, Jan 17), a former diplomat and now a JD(U) member of the Rajya Sabha wrote a few astounding lies. He wrote, “the belief that Muslims are going at a faster pace than Hindus has been repeatedly disproved ....” . It is astounding that such a false assertion can be made by a Member of the Parliament and to boot a supposedly informed and educated former diplomat. Every decennial census has shown that Muslims in what remains as India have been growing faster than Hindus .The Commissioner of Census operations has just released the 2011 figures of population according to religion. The Muslim population has gone up by 24%, which is 50% more than the all India average. In the previous decade that is 2001 –‘10 also the growth of Muslims population was 50% more than the average for India.
2. Sri Varma stated that the Islamic and Christian invaders though indulged in evangelical purposes “most Hindus did not surrender their faith”. It is true that they did not surrender their faith because of force or inducements or inveiglements to Islam/Christianity” . In the undivided India, the Muslim population was 25%. Is this an insignificant proportion?
3. Sri Varma said that while the peoples in the countries conquered by Islam and Christianity converted wholesale to the conquerors religion. This did not happen in India. True; 75% of India’s population including the so called untouchables and low castes did not change their religion inspite of a 700 year rule, exploitation, domination and zezia all imposed by the Islamic conquerors. This shows the superiority of the Bharatiya Hindu dharma and its hold on the people , unlike the other faiths like Christianity which was within fifty years wiped out in the middle east and north Africa by Islam’s conquests.
4. To say that Indians have a common religion shows the hollowness of one’s understanding . The Bharatiya Hindu dharma is non-proselytising . It has evolved with nature and continually evolves over time just as entire nature is changing. There are periods of deterioration followed by reformation. Rejection of the old and adjustment to the new circumstances is permissible because there is no scripture or Holy Book or a Prophet in the Bharatiya Dharma. Its collective wisdom and its proposition and propagation and reformation by the learned that has been responsible for the preservation of the Bharatiya Dharma in India despite the spoilation indulged in by invading foreign faiths and their armies.
5. However, in the name of secularism, the foreign, colonial, unIndian vote -courting ideas and programs have been adopted by a section of our degenerate political leaders and parties. Foreign Direct Investment in politics through the Nehru family has come to pollute Indian politics.
6. It is wrong to say that Muslims pose no threat to India. The Indian Parliament cannot make any laws which is objected to by Muslims, even if such a law is required as per the directive of the Constitution, for eg : Common Civil Code. Because Muslims objected to the Supreme Court’s judgement in the Sha Bano case, our law has been changed to suit the demand of Muslims . There are tens of thousands, of madrasas many of which are hosting jihadi sleeper cells. Vote -courting “secular” parties including the regional ones are tolerant of these . Some such governments are funding the madrasas and paying for their muezzins. The “secular” state is funding to the extent of Rs. 1300 cr Muslims pilgrimage , Haj to Mecca and this amount is increasing year after year.
7. Andhra Pradesh under the rule of a Christian Chief Minister started subsidising Christians pilgrimages to Jerusalem and the construction of Churches from public funds and this, while Hindus have to pay for their own travel to their places of pilgrimage like Amaranth, Manasrovar, Tirumala and also have to buy tickets for the darshan of their deities. It is obvious that both Muslims & Christians are being subsidised and pampered and the furious growth in their population is a threat to India’s economy ( consumption of welfare funds) integrity and the survival of Bharatiya dharma. Hindus will soon become a minority in Assam, Bengal and much earlier in Kerala . The UPA government identified 92 districts as Muslim -intensive and made Muslim First programs of development so that from all of them, like in Kashmir valley, Hindus will flee and they become Muslim majority, districts progressively demanding autonomy and secession from India just like Kashmir.
8. The opportunist “secularists” in the JD(U) which was in the BJP led NDA alliance for more than a decade and many other parties are helping the disintegration of the Bharatiya Hindu Samaj by their casteism and their cozying up to the minorities for their votes.
9. Finally it is well to remember what Dr Ambedkar told the dalits of this country. He told them not to convert to Islam as the brother -hood in that is confined to the believers in that faith; and not to convert to Christianity as the position of those who converted to that faith has not at all improved either in India or elsewhere. He advised them to embrace one of the Bharatiya dharmas Buddhism that is native to the soil and is universal in brotherhood . Lastly, it is very regrettable that intellectuals of the calibre of diplomats of India can stoop to tell lies like the Muslim population has not been increasing in India. What was 10% in 1951 has now officially become 14.4% . ( 925 words) - END-
