Vande Mataram –
Insulted and Truncated

The Indian National Congress held its 38th annual session in Dec 1923 in Kakinada in Andhra under the Presidentship of Maulana Mohammed Ali who led the Khilafat movement, with Gandhiji and Congress as his ally. At the commencement of the session, the greatest singer of those times, Sri Digamber Vishnu Paluskar started singing the Vandemataram. Maulana Mohammed Ali, the Congress President asked Sri Paluskar to stop singing that song . Paluskar did not stop; encouraged by the assembled Congressmen he continued to sing with great fervour. The Maulana, Congress President berated Paluskar. He closed his ears, got down the platform and walked away briskly with closed ears, until he could no longer hear the Vande Mataram song. He returned to the stage only after Palusakr finished singing. He was a “nationalist Muslim” leader of Congress !
2. The INC appointed a Committee in 1937 with Jawaharlal Nehru as its Chairman to decide as to how much of the song Vande Mataram written by Bankim Chandra Chatterji in 1875 and singing which Swadeshi movement undid the division of Bengal in 1905-11. Buckling under the virulent opposition of Muslims led by the Muslim League, the Nehru committed decided that the full song should not be sung; only the first few lines, lasting one minute and nine seconds should be sung at Congress sessions ! Muslim League prevailed over INC !
3. When India gained independence on 15 Aug 1947 after partition and creation of Pakistan on 14 Aug 1947 (Muslim demand; Split and then only quit) ; while engaged in writing our Constitution, under Jawaharlal Nehru guidance Jana Gana Mana of Ravindra Tagore was chosen as per Nehru’s direction and as consolidation, truncated Vande Mataram as National Song ! – not national anthem, because Muslims would not only not agree but be offended and wont tolerate it being sung.
4. Thus it can be seen that India that is, Bharat is independent ( of imperial Great Britain) but not free, free of Muslim will and ( vote) power.
5. For naught did Dr Ambedkar call Nehru a Muslim- maniac. Vande Mataram was stumped and stands partitioned ( like India) thanks to Congress. Now that Congress is led and owned by India Italian dynasty, Vande Mataram is a dismembered song in official India that was once full- blooded Bharat. (385 words)
