Telangana’s Travails

The disconnect between the Telangana ministers & MLAs on the one hand and those of Seemandhra on the other is fully remnant of the disconnect and strife between the no -partition Congress ministers led by Jawaharlal Nehru and the partition -insisting Muslim League ministers is the Vice Roys Executive Council also called the interim cabinet in 1947 in Delhi. The partition demanding Muslim League members first refuse to join the cabinet. Soon they realized the folly immediately and then entered the cabinet with the publicly declared intention of wrecking the functioning of the cabinet and the government. Earlier in order to force the partition of the country the Muslim League launched the violent Direct Action on the 16 of Aug 1946. On the first day which itself about 10,000 partition opposing Hindus were slaughtered in Calcutta under the overview of the Muslim League government presided over by H.S. Suhravardy.
2. Here in Andhra Pradesh the lift between the legislators and the politicians even of the same parties belonging to the two regions is complete. Each group is humiliating itself by cravenly petitioning the Congress party’s High Commandos on whosoever they think can help to have a decision in their favour. Second and third rate Subedar like leaders are lecturing and hectoring these supplicants. They are also telling that finally the decision of Sonia Gandhi only will count. In the 1940s since the feuding partitionists and integrationists could not decide, a foreigner Admiral Louis Mountbatten decided the issue for them by ordering and enforcing the partition of the country and the creation of the new state of Pakistan .
3. Now it would appear since the feuding Indian parties and legislators and leaders cannot come to a settlement, Sonia Maino Gandhi will decide the fate of the state of Andhra Pradesh . Wise men say that history repeats itself. Carl Marks slightly amended it by saying that the repetition will be at a higher plane as in a spiral . In 1983 the late N.T. Rama Rao not suffering the repeated humiliations inflicted upon the leaders of the Congress including the Chief Ministers of the state appeal to the self -respect of Telugu people and inflicted a humiliating defeat on the Congress party notwithstanding the mighty Indira Gandhi. But now the times are different. Leaders of all political parties seem to be Lilliputians in relation to the I-Command in Delhi. They does not seem to be any self -respect left among the garrulous leaders leading Congress men of Andhra Pradesh. It would be worth recalling Dr B R Ambedkar’s estimate of the Congress as long ago as in 1948 itself. Here it is.
“….Gandhi (Mahatma) was holding together the Congress which is a combination of all the bad and self-seeking elements in society who agreed on no social or moral principle governing the life of society except the one of praising the flattering Mr Gandhi. Such a body is unfit to govern the country….”

4. Then it was Mahatma Gandhi who was holding the Congress men in thralldom . Now it is the foreign born Soniaji Mainoji Gandhi who is holding the Congress men in absolute thralldom. The Telugu speaking people are paying heavily for accepting the leadership of Congressmen in the state .
5. Telangana would have to come just as Pakistan had to come. The question is whether it would be as a consequence of disorder, strife and violence or a proper timely settlement. It would be best to impose President’s rule immediately in the state. Restore law and order save the state from the heavy burden of the numerous give away welfare schemes that are being pronounced week after week by the Chief Minister of the state in the hope of saving the Congress and its government in the state .
