Science specifies the composition of matter (like electrons, protons, atoms , molecules, compounds…) and tis properties. For example: the formula H2O for water does not change with time or with the author who writes about.
2. But it is entirely different about society or politic or history. Communist/Marxist historians write that Islamic invaders of India were motivated by loot of the fabulous treasures in temples and since loot was resisted, the temples were along with resisters destroyed. Nationalist historians write that temple destruction and conversion of Hindus was the creed and mission of Islamic invasions, besides establishing their rue by conquest . Histories are revised and even re-written to be in accordance with the ideology and purposes of those in power. Shivaji was noble and hero according to some and a brigand according to some Dr. Ambedkar is eulogized now but was ignored an d even disparaged during his life time. Similarly political ideologies like Nazism, fascism and communism were noble once and now they are ignoble. George Orwell wrote, "Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past."
3. While true science is time and regime independent, narrations about social and political events and orders are time and author -variant. They are not truths which are invariant and don’t depend upon who are the rulers or writers at the helm of governments or socially, political, financially dominant. Subjects and departments and studies described as social science, political science, cultural science, economic sciences are not science. They are better called Departments Schools/ Centers for Studies in Politics, Society, Economics etc. There can be no science in these subjects. (256 words)
