Insecurity Among Minorities

Dr T.H.Chowdary*

Who should feel Insecure:   Sri Asaduddin Oweisi, MIM, MP  is often  speaking  that the  insecurity  among minority that is  Muslims  should  be removed by the  government . Who would feel insecure and why  -  those criminals who are not yet caught and sentenced,   income  tax evaders who are not yet detected,  those who  provide shelter  for and co-operate with smugglers , terrorists,  and   infiltrators from other countries are some of the  persons who will feel insecure.

2. Surely a national  government  is duty -bound   to detect these    and mete out punishment for their illegal activities.   Some sections  of the residents of this country feel insecure  because of the  crimes   that  their  ancestors  had committed   while they were the  rulers and these people are not repentant about their past crimes.   Some feel guilty  for militantly and  violently rioting and voting for the  division of this country saying that they  are  a separate nation but still staying in this country unrepentantly and  reverting to their former  separatism.

3. Truth and Reconciliation : The only way in which their feeling of insecurity  can be removed is the way that South Africa and  Peru have done. In both these  countries Truth and Reconciliation Commission were constituted  so that   the perpetrators of  crimes  in the  past while they were rulers are confessed  as  historical crimes and    the present generations     repudiate and not glory  in those actions and sincerely  acknowledge  the criminal past and    exert to educate themselves to be  part of  an integrated and indivisible part of the nation and have no extra-territorial loyalties .  (Readers can get the paper on this subject on request)
